“Wood, Fire & Imagination”
The Artist Behind the Fire
Puerto Rican pyrography artist V. Calabria creates wood burnings depicting wildlife, pets, nature scenes, and motivational, humorous, or customized signs and logs.
Other products include keepsake and decorative boxes, candleholders, and keyholders.
The wood burning process involves using a heated pyrography pen similar to a soldering tool, to engrave designs onto wood surfaces. Lines, dots, textures, and shading are achieved by the use of different tips, and adjusting heat level, speed, and pressure of the tool. After the wood burning is completed, the piece is sealed with the type of finish best suited for the design and the wood.
For the most part, items can be personalized with quotes and/or names.
